Join Atlantic Highlands for Equity & Justice and NJ Filmmaker Kyle Schickner for a screening of his documentary, A White Man Walks Into a Barber Shop.
The film, which was screened at international film festivals last year, starts in Schickner’s hometown of Highland Park NJ and documents his road trip across America to examine racism’s hold on the country.
He visits barbershops, churches, and homes from Alabama to Minneapolis, from D.C to L.A, Schickner uses honesty and humor on his journey. Along the way he discovers the grip racism has on him.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker.
